The Tellisford loop
Published in walking.
If you park in Rode, you can walk a few miles north up one side of the River Frome, as far as Tellisford. Then walk south on the other side, back to where you started.
On the way you’ll get nice close-up views of the river, and glimpses of industrial remains – workplaces that once depended on it.
When you get to Tellisford, you’ll find the prettiest little stone footbridge you’ve ever seen, and walk across it feeling like you’re in a special place. Which you are.
On the far side of the bridge there’s an incongruous (but in my eyes beautiful) modern house that’s also a hydro-electric power generator. And from there on, it’s mostly fields and sheep and views and mud. But nice mud.
