De-enshittifying digital photos
Honestly I have no idea what to do

Some things I believe to be true:

• Currently, my photos are a mess. They’re all over the place. I have photos in databases (like Apple Photos), on websites (like Flickr and Google Photos - oh, and Google Drive), in folders, on Instagram, on this website, lots of places
• I’ve been using Blot has a sort-of Flickr replacement and although I have a lot of time for Blot as an idea and a service, I don’t think it’s the right place for photos
• Flickr seems more attractive to me since it changed hands, and even more so since it re-invested in the long-term future of the Commons, which suggets it’s owned by people who actually give a damn
• Nevertheless, I worry a lot about enshittification, and feel more strongly than ever that I should put the work in to archive MY photos on MY website - then the only person who can enshittify it is me
• Making photo galleries is long, tedious work

Does anyone have any good answers? I can’t be the only one who thinks this.
