We went for a walk in West Woods today, and it was bluebells.
That is to say: it wasn’t just some bluebells. We didn’t “see some bluebells”. The whole wood - miles and miles of it - was bluebells. The question was: “Is it bluebells?” and the answer was: “Yes”.
To a certain extent, it was also mud. There was a lot of mud to contend with, before you could really appreciate how much it was bluebells.
Mostly, though, it was bluebells, in an endless forest of beech, except not endless because we did get to an end eventually.
