Photo roll, December 2013

My new year's resolution for 2014 is to produce a roll of favourite photos every month. Here's my selection for December 2013 - think of it as a practice run.

Floods in Bradford on Avon

Christmas Eve saw extremely heavy and prolonged rainfall across much of the UK. The Avon in Bradford burst its banks, resulting in the most serious floods we've seen since we moved here in 2002. Several town centre homes and businesses were damaged, and the town bridge was closed for two days.

With the town bridge closed to cars, some people had no option but to paddle home for Christmas
